NEW MUSIC: Ant-Live ft. Fre$co Miyagi “Swoosh”
By LG |

swoosh (01-03-14-05-22-33)

Ant-Live would fit right along with the ASAP Mob if they had an opening. I could almost hear Rocky on the chorus. Not a bad song, though I don’t agree too much with their interpretation of the word “Swoosh”.

NEW MUSIC: Lusive ft. Cienna Jade “Own Key”
By LG |

IMG_9701 (01-03-14-03-32-09)

Lusive did a good job of crafting a melodic sounding chorus, but a good song, it is not. Pitch issues with the feature singer bog down the song, even with the strong showing from Lusive.

NEW MUSIC: Valdrin Lamont ft. DiBiase, Mac Eternal & Shawn Mays “Hate”
By LG |

Hate, Myself CA 2nd save PA (01-03-14-02-43-39)

Can’t be mad at this one. The sound is hot, and the chemistry between Valdrin Lamont and all his features is apparent. You can definitely pop bottles to this ne in the club.

NEW MUSIC: Ishmael Raps “Intro To Fame”
By LG |

intro to fame (01-03-14-11-24-41)

I’m really liking the feel to this one.  It’s mellow, and almost has too much dead space, but I like that about the track. It gives off it’s own atmosphere. Ishmael Raps does a great job at keeping this interesting with a solid verse.

NEW MUSIC: John Jenova ft. Ant-Live “Revenge Of Shinobi”
By LG |

Shinobi (01-03-14-10-43-17)

Despite the cool cover, this song is a bit of a bust. The production is great, but John Jenova needs a little bit of fine tuning before he can handle it. He needs to work on his delivery a bit. Alas, you can still rock with the song because of its decent production.

NEW VIDEO: Hi-Tone “BREAKING ANKLES/THE CROSSOVER”
By LG |

Hi-Tone usually can put together some pretty competent videos. This one is no different. The incorporation of basketball into a video with this title is great. It enhances the song.

NEW VIDEO: On Point “My Weekend”
By LG |

On Point isn’t too on point with his lackluster visual for his latest single. Not much to report with this one, as the song is great, but the video delivers no punch whatsoever.

NEW MUSIC: Justincredible “Children of the Ghetto”
By LG |

Justincredible spits a though-provoking take on the hood and it’s dangers. The sound is very early-90′s, late 80′s, so it might have a hard time finding ears wanting to listen. It’s still VERY good though.

NEW VIDEO: T-Kidd “Run On”
By LG |

T-Kidd spits out bar after bar with this one, and it’s dope. The video serves the verse well, because it doesn’t try to be too flashy. I would have liked it shot without the fish eye lens though.

NEW VIDEO: Matt Easton “Minsky’s (The Place To Be)”
By LG |

Now, this isn’t something that’s going to be in your iPod, but it’s definitely worth noting. Matt Easton raps and produces a commercial for a restaurant in Lawrence, KS. You have to respect the man branching out to bring hip-hop to as many areas of life that he can. Great job.
